Adam Hamilton is the author of 24 Hours That Changed the World, the book that will be the focus of our 2010 Lenten Study. The aim of the study is to help us better understand the events that occurred during the last 24 hours of Jesus' life, see more clearly the theological significance of Christ's suffering and death, and reflect upon the meaning of these events for our own lives.
The study will kick off with a Seder dinner that will serve as educational opportunity for us to understand the Jewish setting of Passover, the first event in the last 24 hours in the life of Jesus. The Seder meal will take place in the Great Room of the Family Life Center, on Ash Wednesday, February 17, at 6:00 p.m. Tickets for the event must be purchased in advance and will be sold after worship services beginning January 31. They may also be purchased from the church office.
Sign-ups for the classes will begin February 7, in the Gazebo; classes begin the week of February 21. The pastors will be preaching a series of sermons based on the book, and will begin the series on Sunday, February 21, prior to the first class meetings.
